Student Bakery & SBCSS Baking Competitions

Launched in 2014, the Student Bakery at Boys Republic is a hands-on vocational program where students learn the art and science of baking. They produce artisan breads, pastries, and desserts for campus meals, local events, and even commercial orders, including desserts sold at Pavilions supermarkets and the Chino Hills Farmers Market. Students gain real-world experience using professional equipment and develop skills in baking, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Boys Republic students also participate in baking competitions hosted by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS) and ROP programs, which promote career readiness and showcase student talent in culinary arts. These events help students build confidence, refine their skills, and connect with industry professionals.
